A Little Elbow Grease

It's been a while, but I finally have a FO... that's not a sock! Last Sunday I finished my Harmony On the Rocks Shawl.  (Harmony Shawl Pattern by Judy Marples / Yarn by Gynx Yarn) Amazing what happens when you put a little elbow grease into something. ;)

It was a really enjoyable, relaxing knit, thanks to an excellent pattern and lovely yarn... honestly, I could have finished it a lot sooner had I not let startitus take-over. The only bump in the road is that because it was a modular knit, I tried to squeeze in an extra pattern repeat-- but of course, not enough yardage left. So I had to rip back. But hey, not worth shedding a tear. ;)

So, now that Harmony is off the needles, I can channel my fiber antennas to the Pomme de Pin Cardigan... which is knitting up beautifully! I'm still on the back, but I can't get over how enjoyable and easy-to-memorize the lace pattern is. In fact, it's very similar to Evelyn A. Clarke's Shetland Triangle Shawl. Also, as I mentioned in my last podcast episode, the yarn is to die for!

In other news, I'm getting my summer knitting list in order. I just ordered some Dream in Color Smooshy, to cast on Veera Välimäki's Color Affection Shawl... in the colorways, Tabby Gray, Blue Sage and Happy Forrest. The colors remind me of Cape Cod, and I imagine it will make an excellent travel project when we go back there, this summer! (images from TheLoopyEwe.com)

Also, I mentioned that it's going to be the 'Summer of Socks!'... to kick off the event (if I can call it that) I splurged on a pair of Signature US 1 dpns. How's that for incentive?

That said, I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!
