Episode 138: Lots to Digress

8:03:00 PM

This week I give a recap of my Gauge + Tension Trunk Show. Super big thanks to Michele, and everyone who swung by to hang out!

OFF THE NEEDLES

I finished knitting my Waterlily top! However it wasn't without a few hitches and glitches.

The back of the neck had a case of the saggies (Why yes, I totally made that word up)! Recalling a technique tip from the Yarn Harlot, I added some crochet reinforcement to the back neckline.

I previously used the same technique on the neckline of my Velynda Cardigan.

ON THE NEEDLES

I cast on a new pair of socks with yarn by A Thing For String in her "Monet" colorway — a gift from Laura of Gynx Yarns But the yarn is so pretty, I kind of want to frog the socks and knit a shawl with it.

I'm still plugging away on my Canopy Shawl ...

SPINNING

This week I put a rather large dent in my Loop Bullseye Bump ... in fact, I'm Navajo plying the thing as I type (intermittently, of course!)

I also worked on a Fondant Fibre Fuzzling, using my Spanish Peacock spindle.

My Gauge + Tension Mini Haul

One does not leave G+T without a haul of some sort. I came away with two gorgeous skeins of O Wool's O-Wash Fingering in "Barn Owl" and a braid of Merino from Queen Bee Fibers.

  1. Thanks for the mention! I was the person who sent you the link to Yarn Harlot's tutorial on reinforcing the neckline with a crochet chain. It seems like it was a hundred years ago, and I had a different Ravelry name, too. As you can see, I'm still following the podcast :-) All the best!
